The availability of carrier films is crucial for a continuous and efficient coating process. The BUS ultrasonic sensors from Balluff monitor the material level on the rolls by precisely measuring the distance to the film, regardless of material color or transparency. The sensors offer high reliability in harsh environments and can be easily parameterized and integrated into existing systems thanks to the IO-Link interface. The early detection of low material levels allows the operating personnel to react quickly and replace the coils in good time to continue the process without interruption.
