5GigE Vision camera – lowest power consumption in a very compact housing
The BVS CA-GV 5GigE camera family features a compact design with a front surface area of 29 x 29 mm and power consumption between 3.5 and 4.8 watts. The camera is equipped with a 5GigE interface that achieves a data rate of up to 625 MByte/s. At the same time, it remains fully backward compatible with 2.5 GigE, enabling easy integration into existing systems without adapting the PC peripherals.
Thanks to digital interfaces such as GigE Vision and GeniCam and its modular design, the camera can be easily integrated into existing and new systems. The BVS CA GV camera family offers various configurations for digital inputs and outputs. In addition to a classic output and an input that can be switched to 5 or 24 VDC (TTL or PLC signal) via software, two GPIOs (general purpose input/output) and an RS232 interface are available. The GPIOs can be flexibly configured as inputs or outputs, enabling the connection of encoders. The RS232 interface is used for parameterizing liquid lenses or flash controllers. Power supply and data transmission are provided via a single cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE), which greatly simplifies system cabling. A larger lens holder for larger sensors is available as an option.
The camera also offers a wide resolution range from 3.1 to 24.6 megapixels and supports Sony's standard CMOS sensors as well as UV and SWIR sensors (IMX992 and IMX993) and the wide-angle IMX901 and IMX902 sensors with aspect ratios of 4:1 and 3:1. This makes it suitable for a wide range of demanding image processing tasks. The integration of the latest Sony image sensors ensures excellent image quality and long-term availability. New sensor functions open up additional possibilities in image evaluation.
