The new amplifier generation BAE
Makes BOH sensor heads IO-Link capable

The new BAE amplifier series from Balluff enables IO-Link communication for optoelectronic sensors. This allows you to use Balluff's precise miniature sensors and versatile light bands in centralized, lean production environments. There, IO-Link enables monitoring of important system parameters and process data such as operating hours, temperature, voltage peaks and signal strength — a big step towards predictive maintenance.
Intuitive and reliable
The OLED display and highly visible LEDs make commissioning easier by providing direct feedback. During use, the LEDs reliably indicate switching status, operation and overload, and warn when an unstable range is reached. All built-in options such as sensitivity, light/dark mode or measuring principle can be easily set via buttons on the device or via IO-Link.
Four variants for maximum user-friendliness
For particularly efficient use of optical sensor heads, you can choose between four versions of the BAE SA-OH amplifiers according to your requirements.
Amplifiers with integrated display allow you to make settings on the device itself as usual, or to configure them via IO-Link. These amplifiers also offer a particularly wide range of functions and options, including a switching frequency of up to 4kHz for fast counting. In addition, with these devices, the pulse time can be extended for object detection, for example, if the target does not remain in the detection range long enough.
Small and slim versions without display are useful if you want to parameterize your sensor heads using the amplifiers exclusively via IO-Link.
Amplifiers with analog output and a switching frequency of 8kHz are suitable for monitoring continuous processes. This allows the full signal range to be used.
Amplifiers with built-in potentiometers for direct and intuitive sensitivity adjustment, or alternatively with automatic teach-in buttons, are ideal for common applications.
Versatile application possibilities thanks to different modes
The new BAE amplifier series can be flexibly adapted to specific requirements. Stable environments, harsh conditions, high-speed tasks, multiple side-by-side sensor devices and much more: diverse modes make the amplifiers true multi-talents.
Single-point and two-point mode: general edge detection in stable environments
Window mode: presence detection in harsher environments
Dynamic mode: short pulses for fast processes like counting or ejection control
Threshold mode: suppression of environmental effects; elimination of the effects of dust, misalignment, temperature drift
selectable speed modes, also for high-speed tasks with up to 8kHz
synchronization mode for up to eight side-by-side sensor devices
